Sr. Collett

Nathan, the other producer. Nobody really knows how sweet he is. Maybe because he wants to hide this sweetness since he might feel it a little bit awkwardly or unmanly. I think he has been protecting me since I started this school. He likes to take care of people, ready to help out anyone who is in deep shits. This warmhearted guy also won a lot of prestigious awards for his short film, 'Kibera kid'. And I think that he won those glory because he was and is still truthful for those people in Kibera. This guy will shoot a feature film over there soon. And it will beat 'City of god'. Nate, I won't download your movie illegally. I'll watch it in a movie theater twice, and I'll buy DVDs and also I'll request HBO to buy your film and schedule it on primetime.

"My father"

Dong, who came and helped us on set, finally completed his first feature, "My father", in Korea. It's based on a true story about a Korean orphan who was adopted to American family. Later, he volunteers for U.S. Army in Korea to find his biological dad and only to realize that his dad is a murderer under death sentence. Isn't it a great story? Dong is SC alumnus who made this quickest director debut out of film school. Only took 2 years to sign the contract. I worked on this set as L.A. cordinator and SAG actor manager. What I say is, I'm very proud of Dong. And this film will rock! Premiere in Sept 6th, all over Korea. Expect it come here soon.

This Samurai on set

I'm talking about Yoshi Atsumi, the producer. Yoshi came first, walked last for 'Secret son'. I deeply appreciate him. I remember when our 'Theo's room' set was not complete though several crews of us worked on it overnight. Then, Yoshi kneeled at Joe White, the gaffer, asking for more hands. (surely, not for bj) That was the moment I felt the Samurai inside of him. He is a guy who can kill his pride for his responsibility. Yes, he's a very strong guy. But don't forget subtlety when you talk with him. Japanese barely say 'Ai-Si-Te-Ru' (I love you) to their sweetheart. They just let theirs know without saying 'Ai-Si-Te-Ru'. Whenever I talk about this Samurai-ness of him, he always denies it, saying, "my family are from farmers' side." But I know he has a shining sword inside of him. Again, he wants subtlety.
